New House

So...Last weekend we put in an offer for a house in Salt Lake. The offer got accepted. Now we are in the process of buying a house. If all goes well with the inspection and loan and such, we will be moving the second weekend in April. We are sooo excited. We have been wanting to move to SLC for a couple years now. It will put us closer to the store and save us $100-$200 a month in gas. Holy cow!!!! I can't believe we spend so much money on gas. The house is 1.5 blocks east of Liberty Park. Liberty park is this amazing park with an aviary, a little pond, tons of kids things to play on, a splash park, a jogging path, a swimming pool, tennis courts and more. Oh we are so excited about the park.

The house was built in 1945 and someone has gone in a flipped the house. Everything inside is new. They gutted the whole thing out and did a great job with the flip. There is no garage, but a big backyard with plenty of room for a garage in the back. Caleb project for this summer or next will be building a garage. He wants to have a loft up top of the garage for his man-cave. We are so excited about this house and hope that all goes through with the closing process and such.

Lily's first Jazz game

Our Real Estate Agent gave us some Jazz tickets for Saturday nights game. Caleb was headed to Wendover for the weekend...so me, lily and Jamie went to the game. Jamie is Caleb's friend Doug's wife. Doug and Caleb went to Wendover together. We had a great time at the game and great seats. They were in the lower bowl. Lily did a great job. She had a fun time clapping and watching all the people. She started to get tired at the end of the game, but was never fussy. She did great.

Corned Beef and Cabbage

Corned Beef and Cabbage is a tradition for Caleb's family. I had never had it before I married in to their family. It's really good and we got to eat it twice this year. Caleb cooked it at home once and we had it at his mom's house last Sunday. Lily even liked it. She didn't love the cabbage very much, but loved the corned beef.

10 months

Here is Lily at 10 months. She is oh so delightful. We are loving seeing her personality come out.

-She thinks she needs to eat dog food. She is always trying to get in to Bear's food.
-says dada sometimes, but doesn't really know what she is saying.
-She laughs at bear sometimes and loves to play with Bear.

-She laughs at herself. It's the cutest little laugh. It sounds fake.
-She understands no, but ignores us :)
-She spits...and does raspberries. When does this stop being cute? Because right now it's adorable.

-She likes to sleep with her stuffed animal...she sleeps with her little stuffed giraffe that has a binkie on the end of it. But she will sleep with any animal.
-She is getting very silly. She is always doing silly things.
-She stands by herself....not interested in walking yet and we are okay with that.
-She still has no teeth.
-I love to watch her eat....watch her little hands pick things up.

-Sometimes she feeds bear.

9 months

Lily turned 9 months in February.

Some things about lily at 9 months
-She is pulling herself up. She is very Mobile...we got a gate for our stairs.
-Her hair is at an awkward stage...but still so cute. I can't get the curl to stay on top anymore.
-She is sleeping much better....she sleeps through the night almost every night.
-She is a good cuddler when she is tired...otherwise she wants to be moving and playing.
-She plays with Bear some. She will take his toy away from him, and then he will take it from her and she gets mad.
-She is jabbering lots and has so much to say

Valentines

For Valentines this year, we just stayed in and had a candlelight dinner. It's always so crowded to go out to eat on Valentines so we enjoyed just staying home and relaxing. We watched Midnight in Paris.

Jazz Game

We made it out to a Jazz game with our friends Doug & Jamie Hammerschmit. It was an awesome game. They went in to double over...they did end up losing, but it was a fun game to watch. We had awesome seats too. We were on row 8ish.

maui - Iao valley

On our last day, we decided to stop by Iao Valley on our way to the airport. It was gorgeous....in the middle of the island...so green.

We had such a great time on this trip. It was great to go without Lily, but I kept thinking how fun it would be to take her here or there. Like I wonder if she would like the ocean and the sand and swimming and such. We were in the car alot going from point A to point B quite a bit and I think she would have gotten sick of that. I know she had a lot more fun at grandma's. But I am excited to take her to the beach someday and see her reaction.

maui - grilling

One night we decided to pick up some fresh fish and grill on the beach. It was such a great idea. Everything was delicious. We got shrimp, corn on the cob, fish and

Maui - sea kayaking

I think my favorite thing we did while in Maui was the sea kayaking. It was the beginning of whale season...so you go out in your kayaks in hopes to see whales. We woke up bright and early and met our guide at 7am. The sun wasn't even up yet when we left our hotel. It was a gorgeous morning...the water was so calm and clear. It felt like we were out on a lake it was so calm. While kayaking out in the shallow areas, you could see right to the bottom. It was almost like you were snorkling. you could see the fish down there clear as the day. When we started out, we let our guide know that we really wanted to see the whales. He said...ok, but I can't really guarantee anything. Wow!!! did we see whales. Beautiful. We saw them about 20 feet away from our kayak. Their backs would pop out 2 or 3 times...and then they would do descend and flip their tails in the air. It was absolutely breathtaking. The water so clear and whales just right there in front of you. Everytime I think about this morning, I wish to recreate it someday. It was so magical.

As we were headed into shore from kayaking, there is a great snorkling spot that we stopped at. It is a turtle cleaning station. so we got to see turtles...so cool. We snorkeled there for a bit and the water was soooo clear. It was amazing. Just as we were packing up our snorkel gear and headed out...one of our guide's buddies came up and told him he just saw a monk seal in teh area we were at. So we decided to hang out there for a bit and see if we could see him. We waited about 15 minutes...and that seal popped up right at our friend's bow of their boat. he came up 3 or 4 times and just breathed and looked at us. Amazing. The monk seal is an endangered species. There are only about 1000 left in existence. So amazing to see...and he was so close. Just looking at us...breathing.

this is not my photo...but this is what we saw....so amazing!

Maui - Ziplining, Twin Falls & Sunset

Our friends were staying on the big island over Christmas and were still there when we got to Maui. So they met us over on Maui for our last couple days on the island. The day we picked them up from the airport we went Ziplining. It was so much fun. Sean went with us, but Tara could not because she is pregnant.

After we got done ziplining, there were some waterfalls nearby that we decided to hike to. They were just up the road to hana a little ways....Twin Falls. They were gorgeous. Caleb and Sean decided to "walk" across the little river and go stand under the waterfall. The said the water was really cold.

On our way back to the resort, we were looking out the window and spotted some whales breaching. So we decided to stop and watch them for a bit. In the photo where caleb is looking out at the water...you can see a whale in the distance. We ended up staying long enough to watch the sunset.
