Oliver's Birthday Party

On Saturday I drove up to Logan for Oliver's birthday party. It was a bug party. Melanie and Ben did a really cute job planning the party. The kids had a great time.

Relief Society Celebration

A couple weeks ago I got to go to the Relief Society Celebration at This Is The Place Monument with my mom and sisters. My parents came down for the weekend and we all met in Salt Lake. We had such a fun weekend. Friday night we went to Benihana with everyone for Oliver's birthday. Then Saturday, it was just us girls. We spent the afternoon at This Is the Place. I hadn't ever been up there before. It was a fun day. They had ladies dressed up throughout the village and they told us stories as if they were the lady pioneers. Now I want to go back in the summertime. It sounded like they have a lot of fun in the village on Saturdays in the summer. Thanks mom for the fun outing.

Art & Soup and Legally Blonde

Last Wednesday I met up with Mindy for a fun night. We stopped by the Art & Soup event and did a whirlwind walk through the event...trying to try as many soups as we could in 20 mintues. We did good...our bellies were full and we got to try everything we wanted to. After the Art & Soup event, we headed to the Capital Theater for Legally Blonde the musical. My parents have season tickets and weren't able to go to this one. So, Mindy and I used their tickets. It was such a fun show. We were laughing out loud and just enjoyed the show thoroughly. Thanks for the tickets mom and dad. It was a good time.

Caleb goes to New York

Caleb's friends have a Zerofriends pop up store in the East Village in New York for 3 months. Caleb and his friend Doug took a trip to see the store and visit their friends. They had a good time. They saw some sights, hung out, and went to a Tim Burton exhibit at the MoMa (I am sort of jealous about that one).

Happy St. Patrick's Day

I made corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day today. I used this recipe from a Blog I like to read...Lynn's Kitchen adventures. It was delicious. The meat was very tender and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Our kitchen does smell a bit like cabbage though...wonder how long it takes for that smell to go away??

Making Monday: Screenprinting

This weekend Caleb and I screenprinted some bags for Caleb's business. I finally got to use the knowledge I got from the screenprinting class my sister and I took this fall. We had a great time and the bags look great. We are excited to start using them.

This where I set-up the screen and burned the image onto the screen....the bathroom.

We printed them in the kitchen and had them drying on the table.

We didn't have enough ink to do just one color...so we did white, black & brown printing on the bags.

Bountiful Baskets

I got a picture of my basket this week. This is what I got in my basket on Saturday.

What am I going to do with all the celery? Any great ideas for celery?

Mindy's Birthday

A couple weeks ago I met up with Mindy and Maria for Mindy's birthday. We ate at Settebello and had a great time catching up and chatting.

The little Chocolatiers were eating at the restaurant too. Mindy was really excited. She got her picture with them. They have a show on TLC about their chocolate shop in the Avenues.

Cindy's Art Show

A couple weeks ago Caleb and I went to our friend Cindy's artshow. We had a great time and saw some of my Making Memories friends there. It was fun to see everyone and see Cindy's show. I really enjoy working from home, but I do miss the people I used to see every day at Making Memories. Here's Tara, Brett and their adorable daughter Gwen.

We even purchased a piece from the show. We are excited to have a piece of Cindy's art.

This is titled "Wynken, Blynken and Nod". It's a delightful children's poem.

Bear Update

Still adorable. We never thought we could like a dog so much, but he is such a delight to have around. Here are some things we love about him....

-he likes to sleep more now days. he will sleep anywhere there is a blanket, rug, dog bed, stuffed toy or lap.

-he still plays with his treats before he eats them.

-he has started hiding treats also. He will hide them and try and cover them up with his little nose. It's so adorable.

-sometimes he likes to be held like a baby...but not very often.

-he is excited everytime we come home...even if we just go out to get the mail. His whole body wags with excitement.

-if either of us sleeps in, he likes to snuggle in bed with us until we get up. he also likes to get under the covers.

-he loves to sit in the sunshine

-he likes to watch the toilet flush

-sometimes he tuckers himself out doing not so desirable things....like tearing up paper.

-he likes his belly rubbed and he will roll over so you can rub it.

-he is afraid of the vent covers in our house. If you are playing catch with him and the ball lands on the vent, he will not get the ball. He will stand as far away as possible and stretch to see if he can get it without touching the vent.

stats:
-black hair...has some grey behind his ears
-black eyes
-still has one baby tooth...we call it his shark tooth. It's his left canine and it's so sharp
-a little over 5 lbs.
-100% adorable

New Hair

I decided it was time for a change in the hair department. My hair lady straightened my hair for me after she cut it. I am not going to straighten it everyday, but it's fun to have it straight every once in a while. I am excited to see how it will look curly with the shorter hair too.

*Please excuse the horrible photobooth picture...I took like 15 and this was the best one of the bunch.
