Yellowstone Park - Clear Lake/Lily Pad Lake Loop

Long post with lots of pictures!

On our last day there, we went up to Yellowstone park again with Caleb's mom. We did a hike recommended by a co-worker on mine, Audre. She had worked and lived in West Yellowstone for a couple summers. She said this was her favorite hike. After doing the hike, I know why. It was so beautiful, and it had a little bit of everything. We ended up doing the hike backwards.

We started by the Canyon. You walk along the Canyon wall. It was so amazing. The colors in the canyon are gorgeous and the river and waterfalls are spectacular. There aren't any guard rails, so I wouldn't recommend this hike for taking small children on.

After hiking through the canyon, you go through some forest and end up at lily pad lake.

Then, you walk through some mud pots.

and end up at Clear Lake. This lake was a gorgeous blue color and the grass on the other side of the lake was so green. There were also some geysers in the lake.

You end hiking through a meadow with some really cool trees.

On our drive out of the park, we saw a heard of buffalo crossing the road. We were very close to them.

We also saw this elk...conveniently located at Elk Antler Creek.

This looks beautiful. Sounds like you had a great time. You will have to take dad and I on that hike sometime.
