My family came up on May 9th for the Race for the Cure. We started a tradition about 3 years ago and we have been meeting in Salt Lake every year for the Race for the Cure. This is put on by the Susan G. Komen foundation for Breast Cancer research. My Grandma Landon actually had breast cancer in the last years of her life. We do it in honor of her every year. It's fun to get together with the family and do this. It's a 5K. We usually end up just walking it. This year Mom, Dad, Melanie, Ben, Oliver, Caleb and myself came down for the race. Ashley was in Scotland (for the second year in a row). Jaxon, Raquel, Kinsley, Keagan and Holden weren't able to make it either. We missed them all.

In front of the hotel...ready to go.

Our plan was to ride trax to the start of the race. We got to the trax station and waited for 2 trains. Each train was packed. They weren't letting anybody on. So we walked to the starting line. It was about 1 mile to get to the start. The pink balloon arch is the start.

This was a cute family.

Just getting started. We were at the end of the huge crowd of people. You can kind of see a sea of people just behind us.

mom & dad

You can see all the people a little better in this photo.

Caleb, myself & my mom at the end.

Thanks for organizing this for us. We all had a great time.
I am glad that your family does this and got me involved last year. It was a perfect day for a race!
What an amazing way to honor your Grandma, I am inspired! My mom had Breast CA and went through tx 1 1/2 years ago. What a cool thing to do as a fam, I will have to look and see if there is something closer to me.
Great pictures! You should start making sparkly pink bras for your family for next year, those are awesome!
