I took pictures during the whole trip, but in the middle of the trip, I was messing with my camera settings and lost the pictures from the first part of the trip....so sad. Good thing I had Audre with me. She is going to share her photos. I just don't have them yet. So, here are some photos of the last half of the trip.
Neuschwanstein castle. This is the one the Disney castle is modeled after. This castle was near completion in 1886, when Kind Ludwig was declared insane and taken from the castle. Later he was found drowned in a nearby lake. So the castle was never officially finished or lived in very long.

The next day we went to Dachau. It was a cold foggy day, which I think set the mood even more. What a sombering experience. It amazes me that the concentration camps were in operation less than 75 years ago. It seems like it should be so much further away in history.
Here are some pictures of Munich. We stayed here for 2 nights. We didn't get to see much of the city, but what we saw was really neat. It's amazing how old everything is in all the European cities. The details in all of the buildings are beautiful.
Our last day we spent in Salzburg, Austria. I loved this city. There was so much to see. I wish we could have spent more time here.
Salzburg has the cutest streets. All the stores have these little signs that hang out.
There is a fortress overlooking the city. It dates back to 1077.
These guys were playing chess in one part of town...adorable.

This old cemetary was really cool.

it looks like you had a great time! so glad you took some extra time to see more! Great photos!!
loves
jealous! looks like lots of fun.
Great pics, you look beautiful! I think that it is amazing how different Europe looks from anything in the USA. I remember visiting some of those places when I was little. I remember Dachau, and Jess was little (like a baby) and she just kept crying and crying, until my mom took her back to the car and then she stopped. I am glad you had a good time, but was wondering how you talked with people at the convention, do you speak German?
Misha, I know it was really amazing. So different than anything we have here. Everything is so old. We actually didn't speak any German. We don't know the language, but most people spoke English or at least understood a lot to get them by. We were demonstrating at the convention, and if they didn't speak English they got the gist of what we were doing by seeing it work.
Looks like you guys had fun!
