Canning...I know, I'm a little late in the season for this

This past weekend, Ashley and I drove up to Idaho. My mom and I had a Saturday of canning planned. I don't know how to can, so I decide to have my mom teach me. We decided to can pickled carrots & cauliflower and salsa. We also made raspberry freezer jam. It was such a great time, and not as much work as I had thought. We started at 8 am and were finished by noon. It was a lot of fun.

getting the jars ready for pickled carrots & cauliflower (I know it sounds weird, but it's my favorite)

my mom thought I should have a picture of me canning....I'm still in my pajamas and I have morning hair. (not that my morning hair is much different from my afternoon or evening hair, but there are subtle differences.)

Here are our cans of carrots/cauliflower & our jam. The salsa is on the stove in the water baths still processing.

After we finished canning, we went for a bike ride with my dad. Then went into town to see what they have been working on for the last little bit. My parents are adding more units to their storage business, and they have been working on updating the front of the old laundromat. It's looking good.

We also did a little shopping, then came home. Ashley and I carved pumpkins.

Ash carved the skull & mine is the spooky house.

Jaxon, Raquel, Kinsley, Holden & Keagan came over for dinner later. It was so great to see them. We don't get to see them very often. I can't believe how much their boys are growing.

Mom & Dad, thanks for such a great weekend. It's always nice to come home.

Oh my gosh, I'm such a jerk! I didn't even ask you once how your weekend was. It was all me, me, me. This looks like fun! I've never canned anything before.

I would love to come for the weekend to your parents house and can too. They are so cute! Although I would have made a big jar of Landon hot chocolate......yum that is the best hot chocolate! I have so many fun memories of your house.......and the laundromat!
