A weekend of quilting

I had a such a great time this weekend at the quilt show with my mom, Aunt MaryAnne and cousin Jenny. I learned so much and just had fun being with my mom and relatives. We saw so many beautiful quilts. These were some of my favorites.

This one is for Cindy.

One of the classes we took was a quilted postcard class. Here is my mom and I in our class. We learned a technique called paper piecing to make these fun projects.

Here are my quilted postcards.

One of the nights we went to German Village. What a fun part of town. It's all very historic. We ate at a Schmidt's, and these men were our entertainment at the restaurant, Schnickelfritz. The restaurant had a sausage bar (like a potato bar, but with sausages)....Caleb would have loved it.

On the last day, we had a little bit of time to wonder around Columbus. What a neat city. I would love to go back.

I think we all had such a great time. It was so much fun learning about quilts and learning from my Aunt about her passion. She showed us her quilts and shared the stories behind each one of them. It was so much fun to spend some time with my cousin Jenny as well. She has the same love for quilting as her mom and it was neat to see them loving the same thing.

Thanks mom for bringing me along on this trip and thanks Aunt MaryAnne for inviting both of us.

Hilly, why do I keep reading blogs tonite of people who have visited places close by but have not come to visit me? What is up? We have been Columbus many times and love it. I love Schmidts also. Did you try Graters ice cream? It is to die for.
