12 Angry Men

The play this month with Mindy was 12 Angry Men. We really enjoyed this one. The actors did a great job and the story was entertaining. There is a movie for this play as well. I haven't seen it, but have heard it's really good. I will have to check it out. I am really enjoying going to the plays with Mindy. It's been a great time to catch up and have some girl time. Thanks Mindy. I look forward to next months play.

The Store

So we have survived the first 3 days of being open. Sales have been a little slow, but that is to be expected for the first little while. Once people start discovering us and telling their friends, we will be in good shape. We have had a lot of traffic and interest in the products. People who know who Alex Pardee is are really stoked to see his stuff in person and very supportive of us. They are so excited to tell their friends. Lots of people are waiting until the weekend to buy because they will getting their paychecks by then. We are hopeful that the weekend will be busy and full of sales.

We have been busy....

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but I think I have a pretty good excuse. Caleb is opening a store in the Layton Hills Mall. He has a Kiosk spot in center court of the mall just at the bottom of the escalators. He will be selling his friend's product, zerofriends merchandise by the artist Alex Pardee. We have been very busy getting things ready to go...making displays, figuring out a cash register, organizing product, getting everything ready so we can legally have a business, etc. We are so excited to get started. We are opening up tomorrow morning and hope to have a pretty good day. It's president's day so kids will be out of school and hopefully shopping at the mall. If you're ever in Layton, stop by the mall and see us. We have signed a 3 month lease for now and hope all goes well so we can sign a longer lease. Alex is a very talented artist and we are excited to be selling his stuff. Wish us luck. I will post pictures tomorrow of how the kiosk turns out and such.

Bountiful Baskets

I have been hearing about food co-ops from people off and on but have never really tried one. Our friends had us over last weekend with some other friends of theirs and they both were talking about Bountiful Baskets and how great they were. Bountiful Baskets is a food co-op. They buy things in bulk and run on volunteers. You pay a small fee each time you want to participate and get whatever they happened to get a good deal on for the week. I picked up my basket on Saturday at 7:30AM. I was surprised at how much stuff I got, and it is all great quality produce. It cost me $15 and I got:

-1 pineapple
-strawberries
-7 ears of corn
-2 tomatoes
-8 apples
-1 honeydew
-3 pummelos
-a bag of spinich
-2 cucumbers
-7 bananas
-2 squash
-6 sweet potatoes

I wish I had gotten a picture, but I forgot.

Bedazzled

My parents went to Hawaii for a couple weeks and on their way home, they stopped at our house to see us. They always bring back such great souvenirs when they come home from trips. This time Bear even got a prize.....a bedazzled shirt! Isn't it magnificent?

It's black so it kind of just looks like we bedazzled our dog. We also got some great prizes too. Thanks mom & dad. It was a lot of fun seeing you.
